DHARAMSHALA: Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay is scheduled to address the ‘Young Tibetan Leaders Summit’ being organised by the Office of Tibet based in Washington DC. The summit will be held at the Garrison Institute, New York from 18 – 21 August 2016.

Sikyong will leave Dharamshala for New Delhi on 11 August. At Delhi, Sikyong will meet important dignitaries and officials. Sikyong will then fly to New York City via Zurich in Switzerland. Sikyong will be back in Dharamshala on 22 August 2016.

The Young Tibetan Leaders Summit is the first such gathering of its kind and complements two earlier and highly successful conferences organised by the Office of Tibet at the same venue, i.e the Conference of University Students in North America in 2007 and the Conference of Tibetan Professionals in North America in 2009.

The summit is aimed at bringing young Tibetan leaders between the ages of 20-35 together to learn, be inspired and develop solutions to barriers inhibiting the advancement of the Tibetan people, community, and the movement, according to the organiser’s official website.
