UKRAINE: A photo exhibition titled ‘The Dalai Lama – As Long As Space Remains’ is traveling across the eastern European country of Ukraine carrying the message of peace and hope espoused by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The exhibition has currently reached the city of Mariupol where it will be demonstrated for 10 days.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition took place at HALABUDA exhibition hall and was attended by numerous young people, many of them being volunteers who have helped people suffering in conflict zones. According to the local organiser Andrey Tolkach, “it was very important for these young people to hear from such an acclaimed spiritual leader as His Holiness the Dalai Lama that altruism, warmheartedness, love and compassion are indispensable if we want to live a happy life”.
Guests at the opening ceremony were also shown a documentary “Dalai Lama – Message to the World” which emphasises that the generation of the 21st century should make efforts to create a peaceful world that everyone nowadays is dreaming about.
The exhibition ‘The Dalai Lama – As Long As Space Remains’ is organised with the support of Telo Tulku Rinpoche, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s honorary representative in Russia, Mongolia and CIS countries which include Ukraine and Save Tibet Foundation (Moscow). The exhibition includes exquisite photos by Tenzin Choejor, His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s official photographer who accompanies him in his journeys all over the world, as well as Igor Yachoglov, Moscow-based photographer and a co-director of Save Tibet Foundation. Each photograph is accompanied by a quotation from His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s books and religious teachings translated both into Ukrainian and Russian languages.
