
DHARAMSHALA: One-day refresher training workshop on the legal compliance relating to FCRA and Income tax of Non – Profit Organizations was organised by Social and Resource Development Fund (SARD), Department of Finance CTA on 29 July, 2016 at Nyatri Hall, Gangchen Kyishong for 31 Accountants from various departments of the CTA, monasteries and registered NGOs.
Mr Tenzin Gaden, Deputy Secretary, Department of Finance who was the resource person, covered legal issues relating to Society Registration Act, Income Tax Rules and Regulation and Foreign Contribution Registration Act (FCRA) – 2010.
The main purpose of the workshop was to update and help Accountants of registered NGOs on the latest provisions under FCRA and Income Tax Rules and Regulation.
Honorable Kalon Mr Karma Yeshi, Department of Finance kindly graced the opening session of the workshop. While addressing the participants, he emphasised the important role of Accountants in conforming to all legal compliance of the host government and the Central Tibetan Administration.
SARD Secretary Mr Ngodup Dorjee attended the closing session and stressed the importance of revising and getting in touch with the topics covered in the workshop.
The workshop has been conducted under the funding assistance by Bureau of Population, Refugee and Migration (PRM) US States Department.
