DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan Parliament today sent congratulatory messages to France’s Francois Hollande and Russia’s Vladimir Putin for winning their presidential elections.

In the letter sent to President Putin, Tibetan Parliament Speaker Penpa Tsering wrote: ‘On behalf of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and the people of Tibet, I would like to extend our heartfelt best wishes and congratulate you on being elected as the President of the Russian Federation for the historic third term.

“We hope that the people of Russia will be immensely benefited from your leadership. The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile is looking forward to work closely with your Government.’

Similarly, the letter to President-Elect Francois Hollande noted: ‘On behalf of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and the people of Tibet, I would like to extend our heartfelt best wishes and congratulate you on being elected as the President of the French Republic.

‘We hope that the people of France will be immensely benefited from your leadership. The Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile is looking forward to work closely with your Government.’
