
Ottawa, May 01, 2012: At the end of the Tibetan Representative’s meeting in Ottawa, Canada from April 29 to May 01, 2012, Kalon Tripa Dr. Lobsang Sangay & DIIR Kalon Ms. Dicki Chhoyang met with 7 Tibetan students who are doing intern-ship programs in various offices of the Parliament of Canada being facilitated by the Parliamentary Friends of Tibet, Canada.
Internship program in various Parliament of the World is one of the Action plans proposed and initiated from the 6th World Parliamentarians’ Convention on Tibet in Ottawa which concluded on April 29, 2012, in which more than 45 Parliamentarians’ from 23 countries, and Tibet support groups have participated.
Kalon Tripa explained the current desperate situation prevailing inside Tibet including series of self immolations, and urges that young Tibetans must always feel strongly as a Tibetan and actively engages as a true representative of Tibetan. At the same time, Kalon Tripa also encourages Students to learn about the history of Tibet, its rich language and culture, and take note of the importance of the Tibetan environment which impacts not only to Tibet and South Asian countries, but also impacts Global warming.
The students were told to remember the hardship of older generation who have succeeded in managing the 13th Dalai Lama to return to Tibet in 1913, and pledge that we must all work hard with unity to succeed in return of 14th Dalai Lam to Tibet and restoration of freedom in Tibet.
