12th March, DHARAMSHALA: Mrs Tsewang Dolma Shosur, Joint secretary and Mr Phuntsok, YES Programme Officer from the Department of Home of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), participated in a Women’s Empowerment Programme organised by the Lion’s Club, Dharamshala.

The President & the senior members of the Club spoke on the importance of women empowerment and the various social welfare activities undertaken by the club.

One of the main agenda at the programme was to introduce a computer and tailoring class for Tibetan women and a combined class to build a harmonious and healthy relationship between the two communities.

Earlier, His Holiness the Dalai Lama have visited the Lion’s Club twice and have donated seed money for the Lion’s bhavan.

The programme also included a Gaddi cultural dance and a short play on the present day dowry system in India.

The programme ended with a thank you note from Mrs Tsewang Dolma Shosur expressing Home Kalon Gyari Dolma’s inability to attend the women empowerment programme.
