
DHARAMSHALA: Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay, the democratically elected political leader of the Tibetan people, will deliver a talk at Delhi University on 21 August on the importance of the Tibetan Plateau to the Indian Subcontinent. Numerous environmentalists and experts are attending the conference titled ‘Only One Tibet to Quench Asia’s Growing Thirst’, organised by Tibet Policy Institute (TPI) in collaboration with University of Delhi and the Foundation for Non-Violent Alternatives.
Following his talk at Delhi, Sikyong will visit Ladakh at the invitation of Mr. P. Stobden, Former Ambassador and Honorary President of Ladakh International Centre, to grace a conference organised by the Centre on 25 August.
Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay will give the keynote address of the conference. He will speak on the topic ‘Environment of Tibet and its impact on Asia’. Ladakh International Centre is a reputed institution for informed discussion and research on national, regional and global issues.
He will travel back to Delhi on 26 August where he will meet senior Indian dignitaries and officials.
He will be back in Dharamshala on 29 August.
