DHARAMSHALA: The Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration today expressed it deepest sorrow at the sad demise of Mr. Hans Deibel, who passed away on 5 July. He was 80. Mr. Deibel was an active Tibet supporter who was the administrator and web master of Verein TIBETFREUNDE for the past 16 years.

“On behalf of all the staff members of the Department of Home, we would like to express our deepest sorrow upon demise of Hans Deibel. May god give enough strength to his bereaved families, friends and members of his elite organization to bear this irreparable loss,” a statement issued by the department reads.

“He has been the harbinger of hope and light to many Tibetans in exile. He not only supported our community for the last two decades but also drawn many supporters to our cause. We cherish his hard work to the welfare of our community,” it said.

Verein TIBETFREUNDE is a not for profit organisation based in Switzerland, which raises funds for the rehabilitation and education of Tibetan children, nuns, monks and the aged.
