
DEHRADUN: Home Kalon Gyari Dolma and Home Secretary Mr. Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang of the Central Tibetan Administration visited Dehradun on 26 May 2015 and met with Shri Dinesh Agarwal, Hon’ble Minister of Uttarkhand for Sports. He has been appointed as the nodal person by the Uttarakhand govt. in dealing with the Tibetan Rehabilitation.
On behalf of the CTA, Kalon expressed sincere gratitude to the government of Uttarakhand for the recently formulated Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy which chalks out the actions to be implemented by the respective concern departments of the government. Matters pertaining to the rehabilitation and welfare can now be dealt in much more effective and in an efficient manner in solving the issues faced by the Tibetans living in the state.
The Hon’ble Minister assured full cooperation and said that the state shall do whatever is possible to make the Tibetan living condition better.
Along with the settlement officer of Dehradun and Herbertpur, the representatives of Tibetan community and sections in and around the Dehradun area attended the meeting.
Later, met with Shri Mr. Vinod Sharma, Home Secretary to the Government of Uttarakhand and apprised him on the rehabilitation housing project of 266 families and requested to grant the necessary permission for the smooth implementation of the project.
Kalon and the Secretary also visited the newly Tibetan colony Tsering Dhonden near Raipur, Dehradun district and met with the community members.
In the Afternoon, met with Additional District Magistrate, Finance, Govt. of Uttarakhand regarding the transfer of land ownership name of Tsering Dhonden Tibetan settlement to Central Tibetan Relief Committee (CTRC), it is donated by Mrs. Sungzin A. Hisey.
Following that day, Kalon and the Secretary held a brief meeting with all the beneficiaries of 116 families and informed on the progress on housing project of 116 families.
