
DHARAMSHALA: A five-day management seminar for senior officials above the rank of Joint Secretary in the Central Tibetan Administration is currently underway at Nyatri hall.
The seminar is organised by the Social and Resource Development (SARD) desk of finance department and funded by the Autonomous Province of South Tyrol, Italy.
The management training will be conducted by officials from the European Academy of Bozen/ Bolzano including Dr. Gunther Cologna, head of EURAC education and Project Manager, Mag. Sergiu Constantin, Dr. Mag. Karl Kossler, Klaus Galler, Gabriel Harrer and Mag. Bianca Ender.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the seminar, Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay spoke about EURAC head Dr. Gunther Cologna’s legacy and deep commitment towards the Tibet issue.
“Dr. Gunther Cologna’s EURAC is a reputed management institution in Europe. It conducts various management trainings to the political leaders of South Tyrol. We are honoured to have him here today to conduct similar trainings to the officials of the Central Tibetan Administration,” he said.
“Dr. Gunther Cologna also facilitated my meeting with newly-elected President of South Tyrol, Dr Arno Kompatscher and outgoing President Luis Durnwader last year. The new president has assured continued support to the issue of Tibet. South Tyrol has continuously supported the Central Tibetan Administration’s Middle Way Approach. They have conducted special trainings to the special representative of His Holiness in Europe and to relevant staff of CTA in formulating draft documents for seeking a meaningful autonomy for the Tibetan people,” he said.
The five-day training will include seminars on Minority Rights in International Law, Autonomy and Power Sharing: The Case of South Tyrol, Management strategies etc. It will conclude on 11 April.
Dr. Gunther Cologna is a reputed writer and educationist. He has also translated various books by His Holiness the Dalai Lama into German language.
