DHARAMSHALA: The budget session for the year 2014-2015 of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile began today after the inauguration of its new building by His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

In his opening remarks, Mr Penpa Tsering, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile, said he pledged to His Holiness the Dalai Lama earlier in the day that the Tibetan leadership will direct their collective efforts for the common cause of the Tibetan people.

The Parliament passed resolution to condole all those Tibetans who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of Tibet and express solidarity with their family members. The resolution also prayed for their aspirations for the return of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to Tibet and the reunion of Tibetans in their homeland.

The Parliament also passed resolutions to condole the demise of two former members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile; Mr. Gedun Jinpa and Mr. Lobsang Wangyal.
