Dharamshala: The Department of Education’s Education Council held a 19-day review and editing meeting for the Tibetan translation of the Universal Ethics Education curriculum from 1 to 25 July 2026 at the Department’s hall. 

In 2025, under an agreement between the Department of Education and the Ayur Gyan Foundation, a project was launched to translate 10 volumes of the Universal Ethics Education curriculum, including student textbooks and teachers’ handbooks compiled by the Ayur Gyan Foundation, into Tibetan for use in Tibetan schools. In July 2025, the Department of Education signed agreements with four translators, and the translation work was subsequently completed.

During the review meeting, participants successfully completed the review and editing of My Journey to Happiness, Books 1–4, comprising the primary-level section of the 10-volume curriculum. The remaining volumes will be reviewed, edited, printed, and distributed in phases.

The meeting was attended by Gedun Dhonyoe, Head of the Textbook Section; Tenzin Pal, Tibetan Textbook Editor; Karma Dekyi, the Department’s SEE Learning facilitator; Oshod Tsering Yangdzom, translator; Tsewang Ugyen, Head of the Oral History Section, Library of Tibetan Works and Archives; and Tsering Tenzin, SEE Learning facilitator at Tong-Len school.
