
Dalhousie: As part of the celebration of the Year of Compassion, commemorating the 90th Birth Anniversary of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, the Dalhousie Ghoton Committee organised a series of Social, Emotional and Ethical (SEE) Learning sessions at four schools in the region.
Kailash Chandra Bouddha, the official Hindi Translator to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, was invited as the keynote speaker to introduce students to the principles and importance of SEE Learning.
On 29 June 2026, at 9:30 a.m., Kailash Chandra Bouddha delivered the first session at Dalhousie Public School, where around 200 students from Classes IX to XII participated enthusiastically. The session focused on cultivating compassion, emotional awareness, ethical values, and social responsibility among young people.
Later the same day, at 1:00 p.m., a second session was conducted at Sacred Heart School, with approximately 150 students from Classes IX to XII in attendance. Students actively engaged with the speaker, showing great interest in the concepts of SEE Learning and asking thoughtful questions during the interactive discussion.
On 30 June 2026, the SEE Learning programme continued at Hilltop School, where around 80 students from Classes IX to XII participated. Thereafter, at 10:30 a.m., the final session was held at Guru Nanak Public School, with approximately 150 students attending.
Across all four schools, students responded with great enthusiasm and curiosity. They actively participated in the discussions and raised many insightful questions, reflecting their keen interest in understanding the values of compassion, emotional intelligence, ethical decision-making, and responsible citizenship.
