
Dharamshala: Following their election as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile on the previous day, Speaker Dolma Tsering Teykhang and Deputy Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel paid ritual visits to several monasteries this morning.
Beginning at Tsuklagkhang, the temple of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and continuing to Nechung Monastery and Gadong Monastery which are the monasteries associated with the State Oracles, the newly elected Speaker and Deputy Speaker, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Secretariat, paid their obeisance and sought blessings during their visits.
The monastic visits were conducted as part of the traditional observances following their election to the leadership of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile.
