Dharamshala, 31 March 2026: Sikyong Penpa Tsering on Tuesday inaugurated newly constructed staff quarters designated for the Secretary, Additional and Joint Secretaries of the Central Tibetan Administration at Gangchen Kyishong. The residential facilities have been developed under the supervision of the Tibetan Administration Welfare Society (TAWS) and Department of Home, CTA, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance staff welfare and infrastructure.
The inauguration ceremony commenced with a brief prayer ceremony conducted by monks from the Nechung Monastery, followed by the formal ribbon-cutting. Sikyong toured both buildings, inspecting the residential quarters and associated facilities alongside CTA secretaries. The visit provided an opportunity to review the quality and readiness of the accommodations intended to support senior administrative staff.
The event concluded with a modest tea reception hosted by Home Secretary Palden Dhondup. During the gathering, the Sikyong presented ceremonial khatas in appreciation of the contributions made by Government contractor Puran Chand and architect Amardeep, acknowledging their roles in the successful completion of the project.
