
Udayagiri, Odisha: The six-day event held from 11 to 16 January 2026, marked the 2nd Guru Padmasambhava Prayer Ceremony at the sacred site of Udayagiri in Odisha, eastern India. The event was conducted under the guidance and instructions of Tarthang Rinpoche, with generous support from Wangmo Dixey’s students and assistance from the Odisha state government.
The prayer gathering was organised by Odisha Phuntsokling Dudul Rabten Ling Monastery and witnessed the participation of a large number of monastics, Dharma practitioners, and devotees from across India. The chief guest at the festival was Shri Rabindra Narayan Behera, Member of the Rajya Sabha, along with seven Members of the Odisha State Legislative Assembly.
Special guests included Gyetrul Jigme Lodoe Rinpoche from Rigon Thupten Mindrolling Monastery, Gyepa Dorje Rinpoche from Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery, Lama Kalsang Nyima and Lama Sonam Tashi from Dudul Rabten Ling Monastery, and Geshe Tsultrim Rabyang from Sera Jey Dechenling Monastery
Also in attendance were monks and nuns led by the Tibetan Settlement Officer of Odisha Phuntsokling, as well as a large number of Dharma practitioners from India, Nepal, Bhutan, and several other countries.
On the first day of the prayer festival, the local settlement officer expressed gratitude to the organisers, all participants, and the Odisha state government for their continued support.
As part of the programme, a two-day international conference titled “International Conference on Guru Padmasambhava and the Diamond Triangle” was held on 14 and 15 January 2026, with participants engaging in discussions on the historical and spiritual significance.
