
Geneva: Representative Thinley Chukki, who is also the Local Tibetan Election Commissioner for regions under the jurisdiction of the Office of Tibet in Geneva, conducted a series of awareness and orientation trainings on 10 and 11 January 2026. The sessions aimed to brief regional Election Officers and Observers on the guidelines and procedures for the 2025–26 Sikyong and 18th Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile elections.
On 10 January, Local Election Commissioner Thinley Chukki held a virtual briefing for Tibetan Election Officers and Observers based in Germany, Austria, and Italy, covering the schedule, programmes, guidelines, and electoral regulations for the upcoming general election.
The following day, she convened Election Officers and Observers from the Tibetan communities in Switzerland and Liechtenstein to emphasise the importance of adhering to election regulations and thoroughly implementing their duties to ensure a successful election. The session was attended by 20 Election Officers and 4 Observers.
Later that afternoon, she held an additional online meeting with Election Officers and Observers in Italy to reinforce the same guidance, ensuring a free, fair, and equal electoral process.
