
Kathmandu: Representative Tsepri Lopan Tulku Ngawang Chokdup attended the Inter-House Cultural Show Competition at Namgyal Secondary School in Nepal as the chief guest on 2 August 2025.
The event was held in honour of the 90th birthday of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and dedicated to the “Year of Compassion.”
Students from the school’s four houses showcased a vibrant array of cultural performances, including traditional Tibetan, Himalayan, and Nepali songs and dances. Celebrated Tibetan singers Tsering Gyurmey and Kalsang served as judges for the competition.
In addition to the Representative, the event was attended by Tibetan Parliamentarian Tashi Dhondup, former Parliamentarian Dolma Tso, Secretary of the Office of Tibet Karma Gyaltsen, Choejor Settlement Officer Phurbu Tashi, Gyalphak and Sharwara Settlement Officer Tashi Dorjee, Jawalakhel Settlement Officer Tsering Dolma, Snowlion Foundation Director Tsering Topgyal, Administrator Sonam Tsering, and the heads of various schools.
The programme concluded with the guests planting saplings on the school grounds—a tribute to His Holiness’s lifelong commitment to compassion and environmental stewardship.
