Brazil: Since 14 June 2025, The Mystical Arts of Tibet: Sacred Music and Sacred Chants for Peace and Healing has been touring Latin America as part of a special initiative marking the Year of Compassion, in celebration of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s 90th Birth Anniversary.
This extraordinary program offers audiences a rare opportunity to witness sacred chants and ritual music performed by monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery, a renowned institution deeply rooted in the spiritual and philosophical heritage of Tibetan Buddhism. The tour is organised in collaboration with Tibet House Brasil.
More than a cultural presentation, the tour carries a profound message of peace, compassion, and inner transformation, sharing Tibet’s timeless values with diverse communities across the continent. Spanning 13 cities in Brazil and six Latin American countries—Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Mexico—the monks are creating 13 intricate Sand Mandalas, offering public teachings on Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, and promoting His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Three Principal Commitments.
The entire Brazil tour is being coordinated in partnership with CEBB (Centro de Estudos Budistas Bodisatva), under the guidance of Lama Padma Samten, a respected Brazilian Buddhist teacher and founder of the CEBB network of centers across the country.
Having completed the first five stops of the tour, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the cities of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Volta Redonda, Juiz de Fora, and the spiritual center CEBB Abhirati, whose generous support and warm hospitality have made this meaningful cultural exchange possible.
In a highlight of the upcoming events, Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche will give a special talk on Universal Responsibility on 30 June and join the pre-birthday celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Tibet House Brasil in São Paulo, together with the Brazilian community and the monks of Drepung Loseling.
As the sacred chants echo throughout Latin America, they offer more than a performance—they carry a message of healing, compassion, and unity, reminding us of our shared humanity in a world in need of peace and understanding.
