Tenzingang: Mass tree Plantation Programme was held at Tenzingang Tibetan Settlement and Komalangchen Village to mark the 90th birthday celebration of His Holiness the 14 Dalai Lama on the auspicious day of 15th day of Saga dawa, the 4th month of Tibetan Calendar. The event was jointly organised by Kalaktang Administration & Shergaon Forest Division, Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Logistic supports rendered by the Tenzingang Tibetan Settlement Officer Rapten Tsering.

Mass tree plantation drive was joined by honourable MLA Shri Tseten Chombay, ZPC Shri Karma Dorjee Thongdok, ADC Kalaktang Shri Mindo Loyi, ADC Rupa Shri Lobsang Tsetan, ZPM kalaktang Shri Tashi Wangchu, and Mon Memang Tsokpa (MMT) President Kalatang Unit Shri Tsering Sonam. Over 600 volunteers from Tenzingang, Samphung, Komalangchen, Kalaktang, Boha, Shamdrung, Betcheling, Domkho, Sanglem, Angkaling, R/Pam, Kalaktang Bazar Committee, All Kalaktang Students’ Union, kalaktang Town Club, Shergaon youth and Khandro Drowa Zangmo Association actively participated for tree plantation. A total of 5000 saplings were planted in the catchment areas of Tenzingang and Komalangchen village for protection of our environment. All the tree saplings were provided by the Forest Department.

Mass tree plantation is initiated under the guidance and direction of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Shri Pema Khandu for the preservation of water resource catchment area in the Settlement.

Honourable MLA Shri Tseten Chombay had provided lunch and refreshment to all the participants and volunteers.
