
Dharamshala: Secretary Jampa Phuntsok of the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, embarked on his first official visit to the southern Tibetan settlements, beginning with Mundgod Doeguling. Accompanied by one of the department’s settlement coordinators, he is on a tour of southern Tibetan health facilities to oversee the Ngoenga School expansion project in Hunsur and meet with health workforce teams based in the settlements.
During his two-day visit, the Secretary met with the health workforce at DTR Hospital, local TMAI staff, and the hospital administrators of Gaden Shartse, Gaden Jangtse, Loselling, and Gomang monasteries. While in Gaden Shartse, Health Secretary Jampa Phuntsok, along with Shartse Khen Rinpoche, inaugurated a newly installed X-ray machine at the hospital.
Secretary Jampa Phuntsok also visited other active project sites before concluding his tour with a visit to the settlement’s OPH, where he interacted with staff and resident elders. His next visit is scheduled for Hunsur Rabgyeling Tibetan Settlement.
