Dharamshala: The 8th Local Tibetan Assembly members of Shillong sworn-in on 10 December 2024 at the hall of Gaden Choeling Buddhist Monastery. 

Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner of Northern Region Choekyi virtually administered the oath of office.

The ceremony was attended by all the elected members of the Local Tibetan Assembly, along with the Shillong Tibetan Settlement Officer, the President of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, three Local Tibetan Election Commission members, and the office assistant cum accountant.

During the swearing-in ceremony, the Local Tibetan Justice Commissioner briefly introduced herself, followed by an overview of the regulations of swearing-in and election law.

Jamphel and Shilog Tsering were elected as the new President and Vice President, respectively.
