SHIMLA: Ven. Thubten Wangchen, member of Tibetan Parliament from Europe, called on Shri. Virbhadra Singh, honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh on 31 March, to personally thank him for all the support extended towards the Tibetan people for the last over 50 years. He also thanked the chief minister for the Himachal Pradesh Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy which was formulated recently by the state.

The Tibetan Parliamentarian also met Shri. G.S. Bali, Honorable Minister of Transport and Food & Supplies, Shri. Mukesh Agnihotri, Honorable Minister of Industry and Public Relations, and Shri. V.C. Pharka, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister and apprised them about the current situation in Tibet and the status of Tibetan movement in Europe.

Following his meetings with the Chief Minister and other ministers, he visited the Tibetan settlement office and the various Tibetan organisations including the old age home. He also met representatives from local Tibetan organisations.
