
DHARAMSHALA: Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi and Mr. Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi met His Holiness the Dalai Lama on Sunday, 22 March, who is currently at New Delhi for a series of teachings and public talks. The meeting which lasted for about 30 minutes saw discussions how to create a peaceful and harmonious society and how to root out social ills like inequality and corruption from society.
The two AAP leaders have described the meeting as a dream come true for them and called His Holiness the Dalai Lama as one of the greatest humanitarian who is respected worldwide.
According to a press release issued by the party, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has also appreciated the Aam Aadmi Party’s fight against corruption, and remarked: “corruption is a kind of violence and it must be done away with.”
“India is a great democratic country and is known worldwide for its religious harmony and secular ethics. Secularism means respect for all human beings,” His Holiness the Dalai Lama reportedly told the two leaders.
