Tibetan community in Bir and Chauntra welcomes Mr Ramesh Dhawala, State Minister, during his visit to the Himalayan Open Paragliding championship 2010 at Bir on 11 Nov 2010

Chauntra:
Bir Tibetan Society, Bir Dege and Chauntra Nangchen organised a grand
reception for Mr Ramesh Dhawala, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumers
Affairs Minister, Himachal Pradesh, who was invited as chief guest on
the Himalayan Open Paragliding Championship 2010 at Bir on 11 November.
The four-day event is being organised by the Department of
Sports and Youth Services in collaboration with Aero Club of India at
Billing. More than 100 paragliders will participate which include
professional, women and freshers.

At
10:30 am, Ms Tsering Lhamo, Tibetan Settlement Officer (TSO), Bir
Tibetan Society, Mr Dhonyoe Jagortsang, TSO, Dege Division, Mr Tenzin
Rabga, TSO, Chauntra welcomed the minister with offering of traditional
scarves. The representatives of Tibetan monasteries, hospital,
institutions, schoolchildren also joined in the welcome reception.
Around 100 people gathered to welcome him which also attracts local
Indians at Chogun Chowk, near Bir. The minister was offered traditional
Chemar Changphue as he entered the special gate adorned with
traditional Tibetan banners reading ‘Tibetan Community in Bir and
Chauntra heartily welcome the visit of your honourable’ installed at
the entrance.The minister thanked the Tibetan Settlement
Officers for giving him a warm reception. The Sub Divisional
Magistrate, Baijnath, who is the head of the department, also extended
his appreciation for the welcome reception. Mr Ravinder Singh Ravi,
Minister of Irrigation & Public Health, Himachal Pradesh, is
