
DHARAMSHALA: The Department of Education (DoE) organised the fourth workshop for non-formal researchers at the College for Higher Tibetan Studies (CHTS), Sarah near Dharamshala from 4-9 Feb.
The chief resource person, Dr. Pema Yangchen, vice-principal of the Dalai Lama Institute of Higher Studies, Bangalore, gave an in-depth presentation and spoke extensively about ‘what, why and how’ of academic research and its application, emphasising the need for meticulous planning and execution of the research by giving practical tips.
The other resource persons include Mr. Tsewang Topla and Mr. Sonam Gyaltsen, both lecturer of CHTS, Sarah, and Dr. Dhesel and Mr. Lobsang, Advisor of Tibet Policy Institute, CTA.
12 research students (1st year MA) from CHTS, Sarah and 5 non- formal researchers of DoE took part in the workshop. The participants made various queries related to research projects and information elucidated the resource persons in their presentations. The session was well appreciated by the participants.
Education Kalon Mr. Ngodup Tsering and Ven. Jamphel Dhakpa, principal of CHTS, Sarah, graced the workshop.
