
BANGALORE: The Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) organised a two-day workshop on ‘Empowering Tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs’ from 24 – 25 January 2015. Participants include 36 trainees who are learning small trade skills at the Institute of Small Trade Learning Centre at Neelamangala, Bangalore, under Youth Empowerment Support (YES) program.
The workshop was aimed to raise self-esteem and confidence of the trainees, to develop their communication skills, to inform the participants on revolving fund loan (under YES), to create awareness on women empowerment and inspire them to set higher goals to build their entrepreneurship skills.
The welcome note of the workshop was given by Mr. Damdul Jingirpon, the administrator of the ISTL, Nelamangala. Resource persons at the workshop include Dr. B. Tsering, member of Tibetan Parliament in Exile, Ms. Tenzin Pema, member of Global Tibetan Professional Network (GTPN), Mr. Lobsang Dakpa, general secretary of Tibetan Legal Association.
Mr.Tenzin Tsephel and Mr. Lobsang Tenpa, ISTL alumni, shared their experiences and aspirations.
Ms. Karma Dolma, co-ordinator of Women’s Empowerment Desk, Department of Home, was the facilitator of the two-day workshop. She also gave a talk on Women’s Empowerment Policy by CTA and an introduction of the Revolving Loan Fund.
