
DHARAMSHALA: At the request of the Education Officer, Snow Lion Foundation based in Nepal, the Department of Education is conducting a three week in- service training for primary teachers of Tibetan schools located in the remote areas of Nepal. Eighteen primary school teachers from Solu Khumbu, Manang, Rasuwa and Shabru are attending the training at Sarah Tibetan College near Dharamsala.
Mr. Ngodup Tsering, Kalon for the Education Department of the Central Tibetan Administration the inaugurated the training on 22 December and delivered the key note speech. Mr. Tsering Samdup (Education Officer) and Tenzin Dhargyal, Education specialist ( Tibet fund) also attended the inaugural ceremony.
The training is aimed to improve the teaching methodology and subject contents in Mathematics, Science, Tibetan and English. The training will also cover child psychology and development, Teacher Professional Development, Computer applications, CCE, inclusive education, the Basic Education Policy, Drug abuse, corporal punishment etc. Various educational films will also be presented in the during the course of the training. The participants will be given a tour of the various offices of CTA.
