Dharamshala: The Fourteenth Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile successfully concluded its tenth session on Friday.In
his closing remarks, the Parliament Speaker Mr Penpa Tsering expressed
his appreciation for questions and recommendations put forward by the
parliament members for improving the workings of Central Tibetan
Administration.The Speaker also commended the clarifications
and replies given by each and every members of the Kashag and their
accountability towards the Parliament, which he said would clear many
doubts among the general public and raise people’s faith in the
legislature.The Speaker thanked the Kashag for deputing eight
staff to assist the Parliamentary Secretariat during the recently held
first Tibetan national general meeting at Bylakuppe in South India.The
Parliament also thanked the Audio Visual Section of the Department of
Information and International Relations for broadcasting the live
coverage of the general meeting.The Parliamentary Secretary Mr
Tobgyal was praised for his efforts in supervising the successful
preparation and proceedings of the general meeting.The Speaker
expressed hope that all the members of Parliament would fulfill their
obligations towards the general public in the coming six months.The Speaker said the Parliament is looking forward to full attendance of MPs during the next session in March 2011.
