Renowned Indian artist Subodh Kerkar inaugurating the photo exhibition at Art Gallery, Kala Academy, Campal, Panaji, Goa.

Panaji:
A photo exhibition portraying the trials and tribulations faced by
Tibetans since 1959 was showcased at Art Gallery of Kala Academy at
Panaji, the capital of Goa, from 13 to 14 September 2010. Mr
Subodh Kerkar, a renowned artist in Goa, inaugurated the photo
exhibition. He later addressed the media about the plight of Tibetan
people inside Tibet and illustrated Tibet as a separate nation by
drawing a map of Tibet. More than 1,500 local and tourists,
including those who came to watch a play in Konkani language in the
academy, thronged the photo exhibition.

The
exhibition, which is part of the event commemorating 50 years of
Tibetans in exile, was organised by the Tibet Museum of Department of
Information and International Relations in association with National
Campaign for Tibetan Cause. It aims to generate awareness among local
Indian populace about issues related to Tibet and its people. It was
also aimed to thank the government and people of India for their
generous support for Tibetans during the past 50 years.The
Tibet Museum traveling exhibition team will be holding their next photo
exhibition in Mundgod Doeguling Tibetan Settlement from 17 to 19
