
DHARAMSHALA: His Holiness the Dalai Lama will address the students and faculty of Tumkur University near Bangalore on 21 December. The address titled ” Ethics in the New Millennium ” is organised by the University, in collaboration with Sera Jey monastery based in Bylakuppe.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s last visit to Tumkur University was in 2012 where he was invited to inaugurate the International Conference on Yoga in Education. Tumkur University also conferred on His Holiness the Dalai Lama an ‘Honorary Distinguished Professorship’ in recognition of His Holiness’ scholarship and relentless service to humanity during the occasion.
Following his visit to Tumkur University, His Holiness will pay a visit to Davanagere city, about 200 kms from Bangalore.
His Holiness will then proceed to Doeguling Tibetan settlement in Mundgod to bestow teachings on the “18 Treatises of the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment” (Tib: Janghcup Lamrim). The Lamrim teachings ( 23 – 29 December )are being held by His Holiness the Dalai Lama at the request of His Eminence the Ling Rinpoche and Gaden Shartse monastery. The series of teachings began in 2012.
