
Bordeaux, 5 December: The Kalon for Department of Information and International Relations of Central Tibetan Administration, Ms. Dicki Chhoyang, was received today by the Mayor and member of French Parliament Mr. Noel Mamere at the Town Hall of Begles, close to France’s south west city of Bordeaux.
Kalon Dicki Chhoyang is on a six-day visit to France. During her visit, Kalon will be visiting Bordeaux, Toulouse, Lavaur, Paris and Grenoble where she is scheduled to attend public conferences, meet parliamentarians and Tibet support groups, as well as the Tibetan community members.

After her arrival in Bordeaux yesterday, Kalon was today received at the town hall of Begles, where the Tibetan national flag was flown in front of the town hall in honour of her visit. Ms. Marie Ricalde, a French member of Parliament from Gironde constituent was also present at the occasion.
During her meeting with the French elected representatives, Kalon Dicki Chhoyang underlined the importance to strengthen awareness about situation in Tibet, particularly among the youths. She also discussed ways to promote the policy of Middle Way Approach that seeks to resolve the issue of Tibet through dialogue based on non-violent and peaceful method.
The French deputies and elected members of municipal council showed their keen interest in furthering the just cause of Tibet and assured their continued support.
In the afternoon, Kalon Dicki Chhoyang was invited at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Bordeaux to give a talk on the situation of Tibet.
More than one hundred students and invitees listened to the Kalon for more than an hour while she spoke on the genesis of the Tibetan struggle and the solution in the form of Middle Way Approach. The talk was followed by question and answer session, which the students actively participated in and posed questions ranging from historical perspective of the Tibetan struggle to the current situation inside Tibet and future reincarnation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The talk was organised by Political Science’s student body of the University.
In the evening, Kalon met with the members of the Tashi Delek Bordeaux, a local Tibet Support Group and thanked them for their support and urged them to continue to lend their hands in disseminating the true information about situation inside Tibet and the position of the Central Tibetan Administration, to counter the Chinese government’s propaganda.
Kalon Dicki Chhoyang will leave for Toulouse tomorrow afternoon.
