Thousands Throng Tibet Exhibition at Bylakuppe[Saturday, 4 September 2010, 3:15 p.m.]

Bylakuppe:
Coinciding with first Tibetan national general meeting, His Holiness
the Dalai Lama’s visit and grand commemoration of the 50th anniversary
of Tibetan Democracy Day at Bylakupee Tibetan Settlement in south
India, the Tibet Museum of Department of Information and International
Relations organised a photo exhibition titled “Journey into Exile” and
“Long Look Homeward” for three days at Sera Lachi, Bylakuppee Tibetan
Settlement from 31 August to 2 September 2010.The photo
exhibition, which was held at Sera Lachi Gyalwai Phodrang, was
inaugurated by His Eminence the Gaden Tri Rinpoche on 31 August 2010
around 9.00 AM. Soon after, a large number of people including Tibetan
Parliamentarians and delegates of the general meeting thronged to visit
the photo exhibition.

The
exhibition depicted the Tibetan journey into exile for past 50 years
and Tibet’s past and the present situation inside Tibet. A Tibet
related documentary films were screened during the exhibition.More
than 5000 Tibetans and non-Tibetans including various Lamas and Tulkus
of the Tibetan monasteries, students of Tibetan Children Village and
Central School for Tibetan and lay people thronged in large numbers to
visit the photo exhibition. The exhibition was highly praised and was
encouraged to carry similar exhibition at various Tibetan settlements
and Indian metropolitan cities.The Tibet Museum traveling exhibition team will be holding their next photo exhibition at Mysore on 5 September 2010.
