
DHARAMSHALA: Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay will be the chief guest at the 50th founding anniversary celebration of Central School for Tibetans at Kalimpong situated in the north-eastern Indian state of West Bengal on 8 Oct.
Sikyong is scheduled to give public talks to Tibetans at Kurseong and Sonada today.
Tomorrow he will speak to students and general public at Tibetan settlement at Darjeeling.
On 8 Oct, Sikyong will grace the golden jubilee celebration of CST at Kalimpong. He will felicitate former and present staff members of the school. Sikyong will have meeting and discussion with current students and alumni on the occasion.
Education Kalon Ngodup Tsering will be the special guest on the occasion.
The speaker of Tibetan parliament-in-Exile, Mr Penpa Tsering, will grace the closing ceremony.

Established in 1964, the Central School for Tibetans at Kalimpong is one of the six residential schools managed by the Central Tibetan Schools Administration based in New Delhi.
There are currently 409 students (191 boys and 218 girls) of which 285 are boarders from Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.The school has about 43 faculty staff members and provides healthy modern education, firmly based on moral values and in congruence with Tibetan cultural traditions.
