DHARAMSHALA:  Mr. Sonam Choephel Shosur was sworn-in today as the new Chief Election Commissioner and Chairman of the Public Service Commission at a swearing in ceremony held today at Gangchen Kyishong.

Mr. Sonam Choephel Shosur was formerly the Secretary of the Department of Health. He was elected to his new post after winning a vote held in the recently concluded session of the Tibetan Parliament.

Mr Ngodup Wangdue, the new member of the Tibetan Public Service Commission was also sworn-in today at the ceremony.

The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice Commissioner Ngawang Phelgyal Gyechen of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission.

Dignitaries present include Tibetan Justice Commissioners, members of the Tibetan Parliament, members of the Kashag and secretaries of various departments of the Central Tibetan Administration.
