
DHARAMSHALA: Kalon Dolma Gyari of the Department of Home, Central Tibetan Administration addressed the gathering of all India executives of the Rashtriya Sevika Sangh Samiti (National Women Volunteers Committee) in Nagpur on 25 July. She presented a beautiful Thangka of Jetsun Drolma (Tara) to the women’s group to honour their commitment.
Speaking at the gathering of the women’s group, Home Kalon spoke on various issues including women empowerment in the Tibetan community. She said, “Women empowerment is not only about the rights of woman, but it is equally important to empower her in fulfilling her duty to the nation”.
The delegation comprising of Kalon accompanied with Addl. Secretary Mr. Chhimey Rigzen and Settlement Officer of Bhandara Norgyeling called on Maniya Shri Bhaiyaji Joshi at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur and presented him a Thangka of Lord Buddha. They also met various other Buddhist friends of Tibet in Nagpur.
On 27th July, in Damoh, (Madhya Pradesh), Kalon and Additonal Secretary of Home Mr. Chhimey Rigzen accompanied by the settlement officers of Bandara Norgyeling and Mainpat Phendeyling met Shri Santosh Bharati to thank him for his wish to donate some land for Tibetan refugee rehabilitation. Kalon Dolma Gyari also visited the proposed site for an inspection.
On 28 July, at a meeting with the Ratna Nidhi Charitable trust, Mumbai: the trust assured assistance for the upgradation of Jampaling Old Age Home at Dharamshala.
Kalon is scheduled to return to Dharamshala on 2 August after a stopover at Delhi to meet officials of the Home Ministry, Government of India.
