Tibetans in Bangalore celebrate His Holiness’ 75th birthday

Tibetans in Bangalore observed the 75th birth anniversary of His
Holiness the Dalai Lama at Koramangala on 6 July. It was attended by
many Indian supporters, Tibetan public and students, according to a
press release issued by the Office of the Chief Representative of the
Central Tibetan Administration based in Bangalore.

Tibetan Administration and supported by Regional Tibetan Freedom
Movement, Tibetan Medical Institute, Institute for Small Trade Learning
Centre, Federation of Tibetan Cooperatives in India, Tibetan Youth
Hostel, Tibetan Youth Congress, Tibetan Peoples Welfare Association and
Tibetan Shopping Centre Welfare Association.

chief guests were Ms Ngawang Lhamo and Ms Tsering Youdon, members of
Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile. Mr Bhutuk Gyari, member of Tibetan
Parliament-in-Exile also attended the celebration.

Mr
Tashi Phuntsok, the chief representative, introduced the day and read
out the statement of the Kashag on the occasion of the seventy-fifth
birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The two chief guests also
spoke at length recalling the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama
and wished him long life.

The
Regional Tibetan Youth Congress presented a colourful Tibetan cultural
programme. In the morning, the Tibetans offered long life prayers for
His Holiness. A basket ball tournament was held in the afternoon. The
day concluded with an evening gala organised by Tibetan Youth Congress.
