
DHARAMSHALA: The Central Tibetan Relief Committee (CTRC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Southern Arava R&D, a scientific research organisation based in Israel, on 24 June. The meeting was chaired by Kalon Dolma Gyari of the Department of Home.
The MoU was signed between Home Secretary Mr. Sonam T. Khorlatsang representing CTRC and world renowned Israeli Agronomist Mr. Moti Harari of Arava R&D. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Chhimey Rigzen, Additional Secretary of Home Department & Mr. Palden Dhondup, Joint Secretary, Agriculture Division of CTRC.
The assessment of agricultural practices that is followed in Bylakuppe Tibetan settlement was initiated in year 2012 in collaboration with Southern Arava R&D & Israeli Friends of Tibetan People(IFTIP), which has resulted in Agricultural Development project through Modernization and Market Access by applying Israeli agricultural techniques according to soil & climatic conditions of Bylakuppe.
