DHARAMSHALA: The Bureau of His Holiness the Dalai Lama based in New Delhi has announced a new hotline telephone number (264-79-737) for information on the status of Identification Certificate (IC). The new hotline number directly connects you to the IC section of the Bureau.

The usual phone numbers to the Bureau: 25439745; 26218548; 26218546 and 26474798, Extension 1 are still available. As morning is usually public dealing, all are requested to call in the afternoon for IC status.

Public Notice from the Bureau:

• People can also check their IC status online at: http://tibetbureau.in/iccheck
• There are many uncollected IC lying at our office, all are requested to collect their IC at the earliest
• Original receipt is needed while collecting the IC
• If someone else is collecting, authorization letter with photo ID or a supporting letter from Settlement office is required
• No attestation shall be given without the production of original documents or verification letter from the respective Settlement officers
• All visitors to the Bureau office are requested to come in a decent dress
