DHARAMSHALA: Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay met Information Hero Golog Jigme on 2 June. Golog Jigme escaped to India after he was imprisoned for assisting film-maker Dhondup Wangchen in making the documentary ‘Leaving Fear Behind’ in 2008. He was listed among ‘100 Information Heroes’ on World Press Freedom Day by Reporters Without Borders this year. 

During their nearly two-hour meeting, Golog Jigme apprised Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay about his imprisonment and  subsequent escape from Chinese prison. He explained to Sikyong about the current political situation inside Tibet.

Sikyong Dr. Lobsang Sangay expressed his happiness at Golog Jigme’s safe arrival in India and at the timely release of Dhondup Wangchen after six years imprisonment. Sikyong suggested Golog Jigme to tell his story and situation in Tibet to the Tibetan people including students at school and colleges.
