
Dharamshala: Shadrong Tashi Gyatso, Secretary of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission, has been appointed as the political secretary at the Kashag Secretariat from 1 July.
Shadrong Tashi Gyatso joined the Central Tibetan Administration in April 1993 on the post of Deputy Secretary at the research wing of the Department of Security. In 1999, he was promoted to the post of Joint Secretary.
In 2001, he took an eight-month official academic leave before resuming his responsibilities at Department of Security in 2002. In December 2004, he was transferred to the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR) as part of the committee to assess and verify the 1.2 million Tibetans killed by the Chinese government since 1959. In 2007, he was promoted to the post of Additional Secretary. He was transferred to the History and Documentation centre under the Kashag Secretariat in September 2008.
In 2010, he was transferred to the Tibetan Parliamentary Secretariat and in 2012, he was promoted to the post of Secretary and transferred to the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission. He takes charge as the Political Secretary at the Kashag Secretariat from 1 July 2021.
