DHARAMSHALA: Just a few weeks after a Tibetan girl bagged the prestigious gold medal, Sonam Dolma, another Tibetan girl achieved the same feat by winning the gold medal in one of India’s top colleges for her outstanding academic performance.
 
“Sonam Dolma secured 1st in the two years of her M.A Political Science Degree at Madras Chritisan College (MCC). The gold medal was awarded to her during the recent convocation of MCC in March,” said Mr. Dhondup, the administrator of Tibetan Youth Hostel in Bangalore.
 
“It is very inspiring to see young Tibetan students achieving academic success in various Indian colleges. I believe it is due to the efforts of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration towards the prioritisation of academic excellence,” he said adding, I hope her achievement will set a good example for others and bring good name for the Tibetan society.  
 
Sonam Dolma is currently pursuing M.Phil in the same department. She aims to go into the teaching line after completing her studies. She is an alumnus of TCV Suja and TCV Gopalpur.
