Two Tibetan students to be selected for Wasatch Scholarship 2010 [Tuesday, 23 March 2010, 3:56 p.m.]
Dharamshala: The Department of Education of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) in collaboration with Wasatch Academy is conducting tests for Tibetan students to study four-year high school at Wasatch Academy, Utah, US. The test is scheduled on March 23-24, 2010 and it comprises of Tibetan & English written test and interview. It is being held at the Lhakpa Tsering Memorial Hall of the Department of Information and International Relations (DIIR). Of the 13 students from various Tibetan schools across India, only 2 (one boy & one girl) will be selected for the study program commencing from the fall 2010. Wasatch Academy has been offering scholarships for Tibetan refugee students since 1997 and it is offered after every four years. Some of the former students of Wasatch Academy are currently studying in one of the most prestigious colleges/universities in the US like Mount Holyoke College, Massachusetts and University of Chicago, Illinois. –Report filed by Tenzin Choephel, Department of Education
