
DHARAMSHALA: Nine persons – seven hailing from Tezu Dhargyeling and two from Tuting were accorded farewell by Honorable Home Kalon Dolma Gyari at the conference hall of Bureau of His Holiness The Dalai Lama at New Delhi this morning. The group is scheduled to leave for Calgary, Canada in the early hours of 18th Jan.
Hon. Kalon advised the immigrants to bear in mind the core essence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s preaching and prove oneself to be a good representative of Tibetan people by respecting the law and the customs of the country. She urged them not to abandon the unique characteristics of the Tibetan people.
She encouraged them to work with dedication and sincerity in whatever jobs and profession they take up in the country they are migrating to.
Hon. Kalon briefly recalled the history of the project to resettle 1000 settlers from the four Tibetan settlements in Arunachal Pradesh and how the project is being implemented through a collaboration of Central Tibetan Administration and the Project Tibet Society based in Canada.
Mr. Sonam Topgyal Khorlatsang, Secretary and Mr Dhondup Dorjee, Additional Secretary, Department of Home and Mr. Tsewang Gyalpo Arya, the Secretary, Bureau of H.H. the Dalai Lama, New Delhi, were present at the send off function. Mr. Khorlatsang familiarized them about the social customs and work culture of Canadian people and wished them good health and success.
