Tibet Corps (TC) was launched on April 12, 2012 and is one of the novel initiatives of the 14th Kashag. Dr. Kunchok Tsundue, Chief Planning Officer of the Office of the Planning Commission, has been appointed as the head of Tibet Corps. The Office of the Planning Commission considers Tibet Corps as a vital avenue for both fresh graduates and established professional Tibetans living abroad and in India to render their valuable expertise, skills and knowhow to assist Tibetan community in exile. Since its inception, a total of 19 Dhang-shab-pas (volunteers) has joined the program of which 5 are still actively serving. Eight from North America, 1 from Europe, and 10 from India served with different CTA departments in different capacities. Dhang-shab-pas comes from diverse range of backgrounds and professions. They can be very helpful in bringing new perspectives and innovations into our programmes, management and public institutions. While directly bridging the skill gaps at various levels, Tibet Corps also helps in connecting the volunteers to the Tibetan community and its cause. Tibet Corps has already embarked on expanding its outreach spatially and also by opening new opportunities. Visit www.tibetcorps.org for new job openings very shortly. Be part of their actualization!
With new residential facilities at Gangchen Kyishong, Dharamsala, Tibet Corps is now well prepared to welcome new volunteers. For those who have not yet registered with Tibet Corps are requested to do so now by sharing your interests, knowledge and skills. It will help formation of much emphasized central Tibetan resource pool which will go a long way in forming much needed “Tibetan Knowledge Society” towards the realisation of our goal.
