DHARAMSHALA: The Tibetan parliamentary delegation concluded their week-long lobbying campaign in the United Kingdom on 25 November 2013. Their activities and campaigns in the UK were co-ordinated by the Office of Tibet based in London and the International Campaign for Tibet, UK.

The Tibetan parliamentary delegation met Mr. John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons, as well as several other members of the British parliament.

They also visited the Legatum institute, an independent think-tank that researches global prosperity and the expansion of human liberty. They met about 12 researchers from the institute and explained to them the repressive policies of the Chinese government which have led to 122 self-immolations inside Tibet. It was followed by a brief question and answer session.

The parliamentary delegation also met several staff from the China desk of the foreign office department during their campaign in the UK.

Speaker John Bercow as well as all the other prominent personalities that the delegation met expressed their solidarity with the suffering of the Tibetans inside Tibet. They assured their continued support for the Middle Way policy and the non-violent struggle of the Central Tibetan Administration.

 The Tibetan Parliamentary Delegation is composed of Speaker Penpa Tsering, Dr. Khenrab, Ven Atruk Tseten, Geshe Thubten Wangchen and Mrs. Dolma Tsering.
