
DHARAMSHALA: The Central Tibetan Administration expressed deep sadness over the demise of Mr Thinley Dorjee, who joined the administrative service at the age of 27 in 2006.
Despite undergoing every possible treatment for the last four years, Mr Thinley Dorjee passed away due to prolonged illness at Delek hospital in Dharamsala at 3:00 am on 31 October. He was 34.

“The Central Tibetan Administration is deeply saddened to hear of the passing away of Deputy Secretary Thinley Dorjee due to prolonged illness. We offer our prayers for his noble rebirth,” the Kashag Secretariat said in a statement.
As a mark of mourning, a prayer service was organised this afternoon, following which all the departments and offices remained closed. Senior officials who attended the prayer service include the chief justice commissioner, justice commissioners, Kalons and secretaries.
Mr Thinley Dorjee was born on 6 June 1979 in Kunphenling Tibetan Settlement in Rawangla in the northeastern Indian state of Sikkim.
After completing his school at the Central School for Tibetans in Darjeeling, he earned his BA degree from Panjab University in Chandigarh.
On 10 February 2006, he joined the CTA service as under secretary at the Department of Religion and Culture.
He was promoted to the post of Deputy Secretary on 19 October 2010 and posted at the then contingency section under the Kashag Secretariat.
