Sataun, H.P: Speaker Pema Jungney of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile attended the golden Jubilee celebration of Kathok Tibetan Settlement in Sataun, Himachal Pradesh as the Chief Guest two days ago.

The celebration was also attended by Health Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk as a special guest, and Settlement Officers of the nearby Tibetan Settlements as guests along with representatives from monasteries, Trade Union President, and the general public of Kathok Tibetan Settlement.

Speaker Pema Jungney in his address highlighted the graciousness of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for his unfathomable role put in constructing Tibetan settlements, schools, and monasteries right after taking a refugee in India while keeping alive Tibet’s issue and spreading of Tibetan Buddhism across the world. Equal appreciation was honored to the older generation of Tibetans in exile for their tireless effort.

Lauding on the increasing residents, he noted that sustainability of a settlement relies more on the people living there rather than buildings. Meanwhile, Speaker also appreciated the developments in the infrastructures.

Following his address, mementos were presented by the Speaker to the former staff and current staff of the settlement.
