Dharamshala: The
Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile has approved a total revised budget of Rs.
100,36,52,000 of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) for the year
2009/10, the Parliamentary Secretariat announced on 30 November. The
amount included a total of Rs. 827,031,464 which was sanctioned in the
March session of the parliament.The meeting of standing
committee members was convened to review the revised budget from 23 to
30 November 2009. Deputy Speaker Dolma Gyari presided over the six-day
meeting attended by Geshe Monlam Tharchin, Lopon Sonam Tenphel, Dolma
Tsering, Sonam Damdul, Karma Chophel, Geshe Beri Jigme Wangyal, Juchen
Kunchok Choedon, and Gyalrong Dawa Tsering. Parliamentary Secretary
Phurbu Tsering, Additional Secretary Topgyal and accountant Pema
Choedon also attended the meeting.The seven departments and
offices of the CTA had submitted their respective revised budget at the
end of October to the Department of Finance and the Kashag, which in
turn presented it to the Tibetan Parliament for its approval. Through
the revised budget the departments can seek new and additional budget
required for the activities for which fund sanctioned under the
original budget is not sufficient.
