DHARAMSHALA: Strengthening its clampdown on Tibetan self-immolation protests, an intermediate people’s court in Malho has sentenced three Tibetan youths to two years imprisonment each for allegedly encouraging separatist and self-immolation protests. They are currently being detained at a prison in Siling, the provincial capital of Qinghai.
Tsondue Choeden, 19, was sentenced to two years imprisonment for allegedly abetting fellow Tibetans to self-immolate. Lhamo, 20, and a 17-year-old Tibetan student were given two year prison sentences each for raising ‘Free Tibet’ slogans and denigrating the Chinese national flag.
Tsondue Choeden hails from Kharkya village in Dowa, Rebkong. He is a monk of Rongwo monastery.
